Hand the defender a bigger problem and it abandons its post. Checks and mate threats are the strongest deflectors.
Remember
- • Force the defender off its post with a bigger threat.
- • Checks and mate threats are the strongest deflection tools.
- • After the deflection, the original target is hanging.
- • Ask what each piece has to do. If the answer is 'defend X,' deflect it.
