Discovered Check: a theory course

Move one piece to uncover a check. Use the king’s required response to gain something with the moving piece.

5 lessons, each followed by its own puzzle drill, then 10 themed puzzle packs.

• The Basic Discovered Check — Uncover a check from the piece behind.
• Capture During the Check — Capture with the moving piece while the opponent must answer check.
• Choose the Landing Square — Choose a useful, safe square for the moving piece.
• Discovered Check with a Fork — Uncover check while the moving piece forks other targets.
• Discovered Check to Mate — Use discovered check to build a mating attack.
