The 4 structure types
Four structures, four plans: doubled, isolated, hanging, majority. Name the skeleton, the plan tends to write itself.
Remember
- • Doubled: exploit the adjacent half-open file with rooks.
- • Isolated: owner attacks dynamically; defender trades pieces and aims for the endgame.
- • Hanging: owner pushes one pawn at the right moment; defender blockades.
- • Majority: create the passed pawn before the opponent does.
