Pin in reverse. The valuable piece sits up front, has to move, and the lesser piece behind it walks off the board with you. Kings and queens are the classic targets.
Remember
• Valuable piece in front, less valuable behind: that's a skewer.
• Attack the valuable piece, it moves, you take the piece behind.
• Bishops, rooks, and queens are the skewerers.
• Lines up on diagonals (bishop) or files and ranks (rook, queen).
